Background of the Study
The integration of cloud-based HR systems has transformed talent management processes by enabling real-time data access, streamlining recruitment, and improving employee performance monitoring (Deloitte, 2023). These systems offer organizations the flexibility to manage human resources efficiently while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. In Kebbi State, where businesses face challenges such as limited access to advanced HR technologies and skilled personnel, cloud-based HR systems provide an opportunity to enhance talent acquisition, retention, and development.
Businesses in Kebbi State operate in a dynamic environment that requires agile HR practices to address workforce challenges and adapt to changing market demands. Cloud-based HR systems have the potential to optimize these practices, ensuring that talent management aligns with organizational goals (Adebayo & Yusuf, 2024). This study evaluates the role of cloud-based HR systems in talent management, focusing on their adoption, benefits, and challenges in businesses within Kebbi State.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the growing adoption of cloud-based HR systems globally, businesses in Kebbi State have been slow to leverage these technologies. Challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited awareness, and resistance to change hinder their adoption. As a result, many businesses struggle with inefficiencies in talent management, including high employee turnover, suboptimal recruitment processes, and limited access to real-time HR data (Mustapha et al., 2024).
Existing research highlights the benefits of cloud-based HR systems but often overlooks their application in less developed regions. This study seeks to address this gap by assessing their role in talent management in businesses located in Kebbi State.
